Your own two feet are all you have when you've been left.

A naive Baylee loves Colt, her boyfriend of four years, more than she ever thought possible. After a little snooping, she's convinced she's well on her way toward hearing an once-in-a-lifetime proposal and starring in the wedding-of-the-year event. Instead, she's blindsided by a very public breakup and the crushing news that Colt is marrying someone else… someone more befitting him and the role his father expects him to take in his law firm.

Baylee may have spent years resenting Ariana, her mother, and her suicide, an intolerable show of weakness in Baylee's opinion, but after Colt leaves her just short of the altar, Baylee sees the world through her mother's eyes. She sympathizes with Ariana's actions and realizes that some things—soul-deep aches—can irreparably damage you and make moving on nearly impossible.

At least that's how she feels until she meets Ryker. With his help, Baylee discovers there is life after Colt, and she prepares to move on by pulling herself up by the bootstraps, holding her head high, and standing on her own two feet. Unfortunately, a new jealous and hateful Colt has his own plans for her, and they are plans no one—especially Baylee—ever saw coming. (via Goodreads)

I received an e-copy of this from Shane of Itching For Books in exchange for an honest review.

I've always wondered whether someone can leave his/her long-time partner just because of someone else. Is it justified? Is it okay if the other party was the one who left first? Is it fine to move on in just less than 24 hours? Is it still okay to move on if the other party was trying to get you back?

Left answered all those questons for me. At first, I was feeling a bit skeptical about Baylee not giving Colt a second chance. But I felt her doubt since she was hurt by the way Colt laid up his cards on her and even the reasons for it. I actually think that Colt wasn't really good enough for Baylee. His reasons were a little selfish and really just stupid. Trust me, you'd want to punch the guy. But then, who wouldn't want to save a relationship, right? Especially if someone's willing to change.

Well, Baylee seemed to moved on in less than 24 hours by meeting Ryker. Their first meeting was already that turning point of their lives. Yes, it was totally love at first sight by them. But neither was willing to give in. Honestly, I didn't feel that spark. All I felt was the sexual tension between them. But nothing more than that. That's one thing I didn't feel. About how their relationship was that authentic. Or the lack thereof. For me, of course. Little did Baylee and Ryker knew that they were connected in more ways than they thought. Their connection was a little funny.

Baylee had issues with her Mother. That issue was really strong but I didn't feel the impact that much. It's like it was only a background of her but nothing much. Though that issue with her Mother really affected her in all ways possible.

Despite the fact that I didn't feel Baylee and Ryker's love, I love Ryker. I guess he's every woman's dream. Seriously, he's the man. But there was one thing he did that I truly didn't like. Maybe he was being naughty. Still!!!

According to the blurb, Colt has plans for Baylee. I didn't know at first whether it was on the good side or the opposite. As the story went on, it became clear to me. Sadly, I pity how Colt have done that. Maybe be was really regretting his decision to leave Baylee.

Baylee and Ryker might have been done with Colt but the two of them still aren't finished with Ryker's business. I'm not sure whether I'd read the sequel. Maybe yes since I want to know what becomes of them. Or maybe not. We'll see.

Left is a nice contemporary read about a girl trying to find her way back into love with the help of an amazing man. Secrets, tensions and choices were stood to test as Baylee and Ryker fought for their love.
