Ashley Lockett has always followed the rules. She's always done the right thing and played it safe until her ideal life is shattered when her dad dies suddenly.

Fueled by anger and grief, she vows to do everything opposite of how she lived before. Then she meets Jordan. He has big dreams, he's had a crush on Ashley for years, and he's a great kisser. But he's also safe.

Enter Colt. He is not safe, and he's more than willing to help Ashley fulfill her vow. (via Goodreads)

I received an e-copy of this from All Night Reads through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

If you're following my reviews, then you probably know already that I'm a sucker for books with a family member or a close friend dead/dying . So I was so excited to read this one.

From the very start, I already felt how sad Ashley was. I can't blame her, really. But it was just a bit confusing for me since she knew her Dad had such sickness. Basically, she'd be more prepared, right? I'm no expert. I just thought Ashley and her family should have been a little prepared. But no, she mourned like it was so sudden that I think it was a bit out of control. I'm not judging but that was how I saw it. It's weird that she acted like her Dad's death was a surprise. She should have seen that coming, right? But yeah, each and everyone of us grieve in such different ways. And that's how she grieved so I'd leave her to that. But that doesn't mean I was in favor of the things she have done. Most of it were reckless. But that's how normal teenage people act when such thing happens. At least at the end, she was able to realize a lot of things.

The moment Jordan appeared, I swear I knew he was the one for Ashley. He was geeky, religious, and most importantly, he really cared about Ashley. Sure, Colt was hot and all. But he was dangerous. He was the "danger" Ashley wanted. So she tried to ignore Jordan especially he was all about faith and religion. But Ashley cannot just hide what he felt about him.

You know, there was a particular scene in which I loved Jordan more. He said something that I hope all men will be able to say to their woman when she does something not-so-good. And I hope the vice versa too, of course!

The minor characters were great too. I especially liked Will and Charlotte. They were both significant to Ashley's change of attitude and all.

Talk about the ending? I loved it! It opened up a lot of possibilities for both Ashley and Jordan. I was able to see how Ashley have changed through time.

The Truth About Letting Go is a great story about accepting death, differences, changes and love. I'm not sure whether its main focus is the religion or just the pure moving on stuff. But I can say that it was able to came right through me. I'm sure anyone will enjoy this!
